Today i did a speedgun for maths

Partly cloudy

We watched a film called partly cloudy . Then the next day, we choose one of the main character and wrote a letter to the other. The lpg was lpg-3

Mr b's finger

For writing,inspired by Mr B's finger, we made a story about what could of happened to his finger . 

learning to solve addition and subtraction problems by re-grouping using repeated addition or subtraction.

Reading stamina

Our class have a thing called reading  stamina graph. Today we read for 11 minutes . This is the book i'm reading

Today is the last day of term 3 and i can't wait for term 4 . Its been a great term. Also, today is a free day mufti!

Last thursday, we did had writing 9 of course , and i was working on sizes

This thursday,we did the basic facts test. i got 99 and my last score is 100 in 6:27

Thursday-friday, we did a writing blast after we did our two plans. The lpgs in was able to do was : use capitals and full stops in every sentence , organise your writing in to paragraphs and use your plan to ogranise your writing.

A letter

We are working on writing a letter to pod two . The lpg is lpg number 1 i can discuss and show that i know who my audience is, and why i am writing. Hopefully they will reply.

the eight cents solution

this tuesday, there was choices in reading. There was there groups, Mr b's,miss hackett's,and miss cross'. Then we chose which one we wanted to read. In miss Hackett's, we read this story about fact and opinion with questions .

fact or fib

Fact means its true and fib mean its not true. for writing this week, we did fact or fib when we wrote some statements and write if its fact or fib and write an explaination on it

This thursday i looked at how to order fractions using number lines. i think this is lpg is number 12- order improper fractions

12x12 grid math activity

This week we played this math activity that Mr Buckland taught us . We first make a 12x12 grid and some one roll the two dices. What ever number they get, they say it and we times them together and we have to put a box with however much the answer is. 

Freeze frame

Today for reading, instead of groups today our whole class did reading together . After we read it, we did a Freeze frame. This is when when you draw a important event in the story. Then you describe it and write why it is important.

School trips at hps

This monday we chose a topic for  persuasive writing . At thursday, we published them in this card
. This is lpg 6-i can write an argument about a selected topic.

ordering fractions

At monday, we get to pick what we work on at math. I decided to order fractions. this is lpg 12- ordering improper fractions

This week for writing, we published the writing we did last week. we are also planning to make a booklet for our writing.  This was lpg 13 I can write about the topic using a range of ideas and have added detail to some of them. My writing have not been printed so this is my writing

     Mystery in the city 1.8.17

“I wonder whats happening there,”Rebekah thought. As she turned around , a noisy crowd of people filled the city . Suddenly, the craziest image was right in front of her. A crowd of police’s with black gear with sheids,ropes,helmets and other equipments was middle of the city. They looked kinda like guard dogs growling people away.  She tried to rush on the slippery road and jump on a tall box so Rebekah can see what they were doing. All she could see was a girl standing  at the opposite side of her . It was like a confusing puzzle.The choices was to figure it out, or do what Rebekah was doing. Before she could think, they were all gone.

3D shapes

Last week we did art with hot coloured 2D shapes. This week we made 3D shapes when we were able to make any 3D shape with paper.

This tuesday, for writing we got a paper with a picture in it, and our group label things we noticed and describe them. At thursday we wrote a story in of what we think is happening .

This wednesday for math we did a math rotation. One of the activeitie was making a 3D shape.

26/6/17 Spelling

Every monday we do spelling. This week I got 12/12.

The lpg is #32 -I can write  all words correctly from the Essential list 1-7 and #33 I can write many words by sounding out and by using spelling rules,prefixes and suffixes

Greedy pig

This thursday we played greedy pig. Greedy pig is a math game Miss hackett taught us ages ago . 

narrative writing

Narrative writing is when you're writing in third person view . The lpg is #9-I can write in different ways for different purposes: recount,describe,explain,narrate ,argue. This thrusday we write a plan for our own story . Today some of us write the story.

creative writing

This monday we did creative writing . This is when you chose a picture, and write what you think is going to happened .

basic facts test.

This wednesday we did a basic facts test  with 6:30 minutes . I got 99 out of 100 and its my highest score yet.

This monday we did poetry for writing. My favorite writing was the winter one. I think the lpg was nine-i  can write in differnt ways for differnt purposes:recount,describe,explain,narrate,argue. Heres my writing.

This thursday for reading i did this sheet called Describe the main character. First you read the story . Then draw the main character and describe it. 

Art

This week we had to finish our lake ora art. Luckily , i was able to finish it. I enjoyed doing this art because you can use anything . My favorite part was painting .

spelling test

This monday , pod 5 did spelling test like all mondays.  This is my spelling test .

reading -vocabulary tree

A  vocabulary tree is when you write a word in the story in your vocabulary tree . The story i read was tea's maid by Margaret Cahill .

mathematics review.

This week at miss Hackett's math side, we did a mathematics review. She gave us this sheet and then we had to solve it .

persuade writing.

Should hurupaki  school have no uniform? do you agree or disagree? i disagreed . persuade writing is when you write a topic or statement like should fidget spinners be banned to school? then you write if you agree or disagree and why.

spelling activities .

This morning i did spelling activities. I used the one backwards and forwards . If you chose backwards and forwards, you write your spelling words, then write it backwards

This wednesday,  I learned how to use place value to solve multiplication probems using 3 digits. At thursday, i practices by writing questions and solving it .

This monday, at math, i learned spliting in 5 .  This is when there is a math question like 4 times 9. Then you split a number to 5 . I'll split nine to 5 and 4 . Then you do 4 times 5 which is 20 , and 4 times 4 which is 16. Plus 20 and 16 which is 36 and that's the anwser to 4 times 9.

Procedural writing.

This is my procedural writing. A procedural writing is when you write how to do something in steps. I write procedural writing about a way to make pancakes for breakfast.
